Frank Eutsler
1/27/1913 - 12/21/2009





Frank Eutsler, 96, died at 12:45 a.m. Monday, Dec. 21, 2009, in Frankfort Care Center in West Frankfort.



There will be no services. Frank requested his body be donated to the medical science department of Southern Illinois University Carbondale.



Frank retired from AmerenCIPS in 1978 and was a proud member of IBEW Local 702 for more than 70 years.



He served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1945 and was assigned to the command of Gen. George Patton, serving with Master Sgt. E.E. Davis of West Frankfort in the 3rd Army Engineers in the European Theater. He was awarded four battle stars for service.



Frank also served with the 8th Army Engineers in the Philippine Islands and attained the rank of technical sergeant. He was highly decorated for service to his country.



He was born Jan. 27, 1913, in Springfield, Mo., to James Henry and Etta M. Walker Eutsler. He moved to West Frankfort in 1922.



Frank married Mary (Saylor) Eutsler in 1940; she preceded him in death. He married his second wife, Floe Bazzell Eutsler; she also preceded him in death.



He was of Christian faith.



Survivors include one brother, William (Bill)  Eutsler of Paducah; one niece, Meri  Eutsler Curtis and husband Kenneth of Paducah, KY; two nephews, Kenneth (Wanda) Eutsler of Burns, TN, John (Peggy) Eutsler of Rock Hill, SC;  several great-nieces and nephews; and special caregiver, Larry Warren of West Frankfort.



He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Mary Eutsler; and second wife, Floe Eutsler; sister-in-law, Dorothy Eutsler; step-nephew, James Crabtree.
