Roberta Hermetz, age 83, of Benton, IL. formerly of Orient, IL. passed away at 12:35 a.m. Monday, December 28, 2009 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, IL. She was born April 21, 1926 in Orient, IL. to Earl and Nellie (Johnson) Jones.
She was a homemaker and a loving wife and mother. Roberta is survived by her daughter: Judy (Stephen) Beatty of Benton, IL; son: David Hermetz of Benton, IL; two grandchildren: Cliff (Jenni) Beatty, John (Pam) Beatty; sister: Daisy (Charles) Hatcher of Moline, IL; sister-in-law: Thelma Jones of Orient, IL; five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband: Pete Hermetz; parents; brother: Leonard Jones; and sister: Shirley Mays.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at Union Funeral Home in West Frankfort, IL with Dwight Jones officiating. Visitation will be from 12 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2009 prior to the service. Interment will be al Denning Cemetery in West Frankfort, IL.
