Margaret Murphy Hoppers, 71, died at 6:30 a.m. Saturday, March 6, 2010, in Herrin Hospital.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 10, 2010, in Union Funeral Home in West Frankfort, with Pastors Wayne and Barbara Gardner officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Thompsonville. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hoppers was a member of VFW Post 5764 of West Frankfort and Orient American Legion, and she was president of the Ladies Auxiliary.

She was born Jan. 8, 1939, in West Frankfort to Clyde and Agnes Agnitsch Vaughn.

Survivors include her husband, Jim Hoppers of West Frankfort; children, Rocky Murphy of Thompsonville and Brenda Gesell of Benton, James and Sherrie Murphy of Thompsonville, Nelson and Laura Dial of Thompsonville and Mira Cochrum and fiancé Victor Phillips of Anniston, Ala.; stepson, Jimmy Hoppers of Texas; grandchildren, Nichole Isaacs, Dusty James Murphy, Nelson A. Dial, Wade A. Dial, Savanah Murphy, Seth Murphy, Dylan Murphy and Kyle Murphy; stepgrandchildren, Jimmy and Joey Hoppers; great-grandchild, Kayla Marie Murphy; brother, Ronnie and Kathy Vaughn; several nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Agnes Vaughn; brother, Silas Vaughn; husband, John W. Murphy; and grandson, Dusty James Murphy.
