Viola M. Renz, 89, died at 5:10 a.m. Monday, March 8, 2010, in Herrin Hospital. She was born December 29, 1920 in West Frankfort, Illinois to Albert and Minnie Fisher Larkin.

She was a Sunday School teacher at Glad Tidings Church and retired from Illinois Tool Works in Elgin, Illinois.

Viola is survived by her daughters: Joann Boyd (Shelby) of Dixon, IL and Frances Pfortmiller (Maurice) of Dixon, IL; son, Loren Marks, Jr. (Barbara) of West Frankfort; sister, Helen Darnell of West Frankfort; grandchildren: Ed, Jeffrey, Joseph Marks, Debby Richards, David Boyd, Buddy Boyd, Richard and Leroy Pfortmiller; many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Betty Elam and Ruth Pearl; brothers, Jesse Larkin, James Larkin, Leroy Larkin, "Nubby" Larkin, Freddie Bill Larkin; granddaughter, Renee Putt.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Union Funeral Home in West Frankfort, with Pastor John Howat officiating. Burial will be in Tower Heights Cemetery in West Frankfort. Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

This was a shock to me as i was on looking for my grandsons obit and found my aunt. Aunt Vi has been and will be missed and loved I will always cherish her memory
